The Cardinal Courier

The Cardinal Courier is the student run magazine at St. John Fisher College. It was created to provide the St. John Fisher College community with quality news coverage of the happenings on campus and the local community.

Design Editor

As design editor my role was to check the magazine issue before going to print; to make sure the little details were in order and the issue was consistent. I would decide the layout for each issue and the creative direction, as well as the overall design theme. The program we used mainly was Adobe InDesign. This was for the template of the magazine and where the bulk of the design was done. Occasionally, there was need for Photoshop and Illustrator for design elements that would later go in the InDesign file. As Design Editor, I would manage others on the design team and approve and finalize their pages for the issue. This meant giving feedback and fixing design elements on the spread. The logo of the magazine from spring 2018 to the end of 2019 I created. The idea was to incorporate a cardinal to represent St. John Fisher College.
